Mid-garnet/brick red. Light, slightly insubstantial nose. Palate also a little thin and one-dimensional. A wine that lacks depth. Dry tannins, not much fruit, and a faintly gamey undertone. Can’t see this improving.
Medium deep color; a little dumb on the nose, but a very “Sangiovese” structure on the palate, with quite fierce acidity (associated with cooler years) and wild cherry fruit, while tannins are reasonably in check, if firm. Needs a bit of time; drink 2015+.
Deep garnet to tawny rim. Intense, refined, mineral nose, with mature red cherries, cinnamon, and cedarwood. Medium to full body, with elegant, sweet red fruit and long, mineral, complex finish.
