Deep garnet/ruby. aromatic, lifted nose, with some volatility. High alcohol, ripe, slightly jammy style, with evident heat on the palate. Evidence of figgy, overripe fruit on the palate, too. A little dry and tannic.

Deepish, some turn. Fresh, plummy fruit, with a herbal component on the nose —thyme? Keeps you sniffing. Very 2007 on the palate, with plenty of everything—acid, fruit, and tannin—but again, a certain lack of elegance. good length, very respectable, but in the end not greatly exciting. Drink now for 10 years.

Deep garnet core to orange rim. Very intense, mature, clean fruit on the nose, with cherries and strawberries; has clarity and definition. Medium to full body, with great purity and definition, layered red fruit, and long, bright, clean finish.
