A village Nuits from what is supposed to be the wrong side of the road, this performs well out of its league, thanks to sound viticulture and sensitive winemaking. The wine was fermented with 100 percent of the stems and in 100 percent new wood (from a boutique cooper, Stéphane Chassin, in Rully, who specializes in very long, slow toasting), but there are none of the negative telltale signs of either technique; rather, there is a delicate roseate scent that should become ever more fragrant with age and an elegant palate with very refined tannins.
