2011 Italy Tuscany £14 Sangiovese,

Tim Atkin MW

Pale garnet/brick-red, with some development. Spicy, peppery, fresh, zesty, light, aromatic Sangiovese. A delicate style, with nuance and freshness and balance. Gentle, subtle, elegant winemaking, with some sweetness and a hint of reduction. Slightly warming alcohol on the finish.

Nicholas Belfrage

Correct color, dumbish nose. good character on the palate; but for now, aggressive acidity and slightly drying tannins make it somewhat inaccessible. Still, it has classic brunello character and every possibility of turning into a lovely wine a few years down the road. The only doubt is whether it will ever quite achieve its potential. Drink from 2018.

Bruno Besa

Deep garnet to tawny rim. Intense, mature nose, with sandalwood, cinnamon, small black fruits, and a smoky, meaty character. Full body, with great sweetness of fruit, a rich mid-palate, and a long, mineral, clean finish.
