Bruno Besa

Deep garnet core to orange rim. Mature, closed nose, with prunes, morello cherries, slightly dumb nose. Medium body, with bright yet slightly simple red fruit.

Nicholas Belfrage

Tight-knit color, fine-grained. Seductively aromatic on the nose, easy cherry fruit on the palate, sweet, but with firm tannin to balance it and good acidity. Likely to mature soon but could last. Drink 2013–20. Well typed.

Mid-ruby/red, with a touch of development. Closed at the moment but hinting at good concentration. The fruit is still quite primary at this stage. A modern style, with some barriques and sweet black fruits, but it’s a well-done modern style. Sweet, polished tannins, hints of spice and licorice, and a savory, Italianate finish. Quite alcoholic, too.
