Château Ausone 1er Grand Cru Classé A

Vintage Country Region Average Price Grape Variety
2012 France Bordeaux £0

Michael Schuster

Fresh and minerally to smell, subtly oaky, fragrant; very nicely balanced, elegant wine, with a moderate concentration, a fresh acidity and a well-conceived gentle tannin; a deliciously sweet, slender, refined core fruit, long, close-grained, refined, subtle, and persistent. Not a grand Ausone, but a beauty all the same. 2022-40+.

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve

A blend of 55% Cabernet Franc and 45% Merlot, Ausone has a bouquet of little red berries and delicate bell pepper leading to a wine with superbly refined tannins, silky length and wonderful elegance, but lacking the infinitely voluptuous length of the very best vintages from the property.
