Rounder than the previous wine, perhaps riper, and with excellent body, but I preferred the purity and the very precise definition of the simple Chablis.
Although very close to Montée de Tonnerre, this is normally very different in style, its southerly exposure resulting in greater richness and ripeness. But this has great aromatic definition and, if anything, a more elemental character and greater tension than the Montée de Tonnerre on the mid-palate, if slightly less finesse and harmony at this early stage.
A quieter, leaner wine than the fireworks of exoticism that was the 2010. But there's a lot here that will blossom soon, protected by a healthy vein of elegant acidity. Very classy Chablis.
