Mid-garnet, with some brick-red notes. Aromatic, appealingly developed nose, savory, herbal, with subtle red fruits. Palate a little dry and firm, with marked acidity adding to the impression of dryness. There’s some good fruit sweetness here, but the tannin/acid balance is slightly out of kilter. the wine may come together in the bottle over the next five years or so.
Deep ruby to garnet, tawny rim. Mature, fairly closed but with layered deep black and red fruits and hints of orange peel. Medium to full body, with exuberant tannins. A bit unbalanced and not entirely clean.
Medium-depth, quite youthful. nose still developing but on the right lines; plum-prune enhanced by hints of oak. Ripe and fruity on the palate, between fresh and dried fruit, with a characteristic bitter twist and ripe but present tannins. Quite good length, but needs a bit of time, best 2014–20+.
