The World of Fine Wine is proud to announce that we have become a Corporate Patron of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET).
WFW joins an illustrious list of brands in WSET’s Corporate Patrons program. The Corporate Patrons program ensures that WSET receives essential funding to continue to develop its world class courses and qualifications, while helping businesses add value to their own business by maximizing the benefits of training.
As part of the new partnership, a new The World of Fine Wine Scholarship will be launched to honor a WSET Level 3 Award in Wines and Spirits candidate. The prize of an article published on The World of Fine Wine website and a two-year subscription will be given to an outstanding achiever from outside the UK who excelled in the examination and submitted the strongest essay application. The scholarship will be awarded for the first time at the WSET Awards and Graduation ceremony on 23 January 2017.
Ian Harris, CEO of WSET, says, “We’re thrilled to welcome The World of Fine Wine as yet another revered organization in our Corporate Patrons program. The support we receive from across the industry is fantastic and it is these partnerships and scholarships that allow us to nurture the next generation of wine and spirits professionals.”
Neil Beckett, Editor of The World of Fine Wine, says, “The WSET Diploma gave me my biggest break. Wine education has never been more essential or more exciting than it is today, and at The World of Fine Wine we hope to play our part - not only issue to issue and online, but also now through this new Scholarship that we are extremely pleased and proud to sponsor as a Corporate Patron.”
