The name Bordeaux Index has today officially returned to the fine wine and spirits market, reversing the name change to BI, made in 2016. The original brand was first introduced back in 1997, when Bordeaux Index was founded as a forward-looking operator seeking to shake up the fine wine market, in particular the way the product is bought and sold.
Putting customer service and technology at the heart of its approach, Bordeaux Index has opened up the world of fine wine and spirits, particularly through LiveTrade, the only two-way trading platform serving both private and trade clients, which offers live, guaranteed prices for over 550 of the world’s most actively traded wines, 24/7.
Bordeaux Index’s clients range from many of the world’s largest collectors to those just starting their wine or spirits journey, with all of these benefiting from the company’s deep market expertise to make the most of the passion and investment opportunities to be had from these products. Bordeaux Index’s success has also been driven by its open, honest and unstuffy way of servicing its clients, something which very much remains a core brand value.
Founded in 1997, Bordeaux Index has risen to become a leading player in the fine wine and spirits space. From key milestones such as the first trades on its LiveTrade platform in 2009, and the investment into the company by Societe Jacques Bollinger in 2019, the return to the Bordeaux Index brand today is another exciting step in the company’s dynamic history.
Commenting on the return to the Company’s original name, Gary Boom, Founder and Chief Executive Officer said:
“Listening to how our clients and partners referred to us, it was unquestionable that to them we are, and always will be, Bordeaux Index. Whilst we have broadened our product offering even further in recent years, the name Bordeaux Index gives both a contemporary and classic identity, which we are embracing. We are one of the leading merchants of rare wines and spirits and the biggest trader of fine Bordeaux, but we have also led the way with technology and the creation of LiveTrade. The name Bordeaux Index resonates with all of these key traits.”
