67 Pall Mall, the London private members’ club for fine wine enthusiasts, has undergone an expansion and is now able to accept full members for the first time since membership closed prior to opening in 2015 due to popular demand.

The Sir Edwin Lutyens’ building in St James’s is now offering its members more space with the addition of a new floor containing a luxurious bar and lounge area, accompanied by an expanded wine program and new culinary delights.

The extra first floor has doubled the size of the club, and with now ample seating capacity, the club is able to accept new members; something it hasn’t had the opportunity to do since approximately five months prior to opening back in 2015.

While the ground floor offers the option of restaurant, bar and lounge, General Manager Niels Sherry said the best change about the expansion was the addition of the “whole floor of casual, relaxed dining”. The first floor provides an entire space dedicated to casual dining with a tapas style menu and 400 wines by the glass. “Having two separate wine lists allows us to play around with it a little bit,” said Niels. “We’ve also added approximately 100 wines to the by-the-glass list on the first floor in recognition of the California wildfires,” he continued. The now 4,100 label wine list is skillfully curated by Ronan Sayburn MS and is one of the largest in the UK, previously containing approximately 2,500 wines. The by-the-glass selection for the ground floor also contains 400 wine references.

Renowned design studio Russell Sage masterminded the interior for the new floor. The practice has upheld the establishment’s majestic décor seamlessly from the ground floor members’ lounge to the new level, embellishing various nooks and intimate corners where members can relax.

The idea of 67 Pall Mall was conceived to offer wine lovers the chance to enjoy fine wine, without the heavy markup prices. Members can keep their wine stored in perfect conditions at the club, and visit for a glass or two at any time.
