Ch’ng Poh Tiong, a lawyer by training, is a highly influential and prolific publisher, writer, consultant, lecturer, and wine judge. He has been publisher of The Wine Review, Southeast Asia’s longest-established wine magazine, since 1991 and of the world’s first annual guide to Bordeaux in Chinese since 2000. He is the wine columnist for Lianhe Zaobao, Singapore’s largest-circulation Chinese daily, as well as for China’s Wine Life magazine, and he writes a blog for Sina, one of China’s largest Internet portals. He is founder of the International Congress of Chinese Cuisine & Wine, founder of the Perfect Pairings Awards, author of the bilingual Chinese/ English book 108 Great Chinese Dishes Paired, and publisher of Chinese Cuisine & Wine. His latest project is vinovideos.com, the first website devoted to wine videos for Chinese viewers. A columnist for The World of Fine Wine magazine, he is also a regional chair for the Decanter World Wine Awards. He somehow found time to obtain a postgraduate certificate in Chinese art from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
