World’s Best Wine List 2015
Wine has played a significant role in the success of New York’s much-acclaimed Eleven Madison Park. The three-star Michelin fine-dining venue has been justly praised for the innovative cooking of Swiss chef Daniel Humm, whose meticulous interpretation of local food traditions is presented in an ever-changing multi-course tasting menu.
But the wine choices are no less imaginative. Indeed, as senior judge at the World’s Best Wine Lists 2015 said, this is a “simply brilliant list,” very far ahead of its peers as World’s Best Wine List 2015.
What makes it so good? McCoy’s fellow judge Alder Yarrow explains: “It’s just such an incredibly well-rounded list, with something for everyone at a very high level of quality.
“If you want an older vintage of Montrachet, or if you want to explore the Jura, they have both covered. It’s a remarkably complete wine list— it has two pages of New York State; it has a great by-the-glass list—that represents the classics and the new wave and is doing so at an incredibly high level of personality.”
