Denver’s Barolo Grill is a restaurant that sets out to bring the small-scale delights of Piemontese and Tuscan cuisine to its attractively modern setting in the Cherry Creek North neighborhood.
The seasonally changing menu is based on ingredients sourced from local farms and producers which are used to create dishes such as “Anatra 360,” Barolo-style braised duck, green olives, spring vegetables, and roasted garlic potatoes; or lombo di agenello, lamb chop, fennel mixed salad, roasted Yukon gold potatoes, and almonds.
The cusine is matched with an extensive wine list that owner Blair Taylor and wine director Ryan Fletter believe includes one of the largest selections of Barolo outside Italy. The World’s Best Wine Lists awards judges agreed. But they were impressed, too, by the way the list ranges beyond its Italian brief: there is a fine choice of French, Spanish, and domestic wines, too, always with a focus on small, quality-focused producers.
